Question
My 11-week-old yellow Lab is partially an indoor and outdoor dog. How cold is too cold for our dog to be outside and does it change as he gets older?
Answer
If it is below freezing, it is too cold. Dogs get frostbite just as people do. All dogs need shelter, preferably indoors. But if this is not possible, then at least a warm garage should be available. Dog houses are only good for dogs that will go in them. And unless the houses are insulated and bedded down, they will not provide enough warmth.
