Question
Our 4-year-old, 100-pound Lab mix, Cody, cannot raise his tail. When I try to touch it, he acts like it hurts him. The normal position for his tail is up and curled and wagging. Now it hangs down straight with small side-to-side movement. There has been no apparent injury. The only thing I did recently was to put a dose of flea control on him. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer
It would be hard to say without doing a physical examination on your dog. Some of the larger breed dogs like the Labs with heavy weighted tails can injure them if they hit them against something hard. My best advice would be to schedule a visit with your regular veterinarian for a complete physical examination. It would be unlikely that the flea control product would cause any problems.
